Step Aboard Kismet
Exterior
Topside Tour
Built in 1980, our CSY 44 Walkover is a true bluewater classic—strong, spacious, and made for serious cruising. In 2019, Kismet went through a complete refit that brought her back to life and ready for the long haul. The deck was rebuilt, the entire boat was repainted from mast to keel, and all new hardware was installed, including upgraded winches and brand new standing and running rigging. She also got a sleek new hardtop bimini and fresh canvas, giving her a polished look and added protection from the elements. Kismet has old-school charm with a modern edge. These updates have made Kismet not just beautiful, but ready for the journey ahead.

Interior
Life Below Deck
Kismet may be a classic, but step inside and you’ll see she’s had a serious glow-up. The galley was fully refit in 2024 with new Corian countertops, a deep undermount sink, a modern faucet, and a Seagull water filtration system that makes our drinking water safe and fresh. In 2023, we replaced all the interior cushions with mold-resistant foam and updated fabrics, making the saloon even more comfortable for meals, planning, and lounging. The interior got a fresh coat of paint in 2025, brightening up the space while keeping the charm of her original woodwork. Cozy, functional, and fully liveaboard ready. This is where life happens when we’re not out sailing.

Engine Room
Kismet's Heartbeat
She may love the wind, but when we need real muscle, this is where the power lives. In 2019, Kismet was repowered with a Yanmar 80 horsepower engine, giving her the strength and reliability we count on when conditions call for motoring. Along with the new engine came updated water manifolds, fresh wiring, Peck plumbing, and dual fuel separators to keep our diesel clean and our systems running smoothly. It is not glamorous, but it is the heart of the boat and it keeps us moving forward.

Solar + Electric
Sailing on Sunshine
We rely on the sun to power almost everything aboard, and Kismet’s solar setup is no joke. We have 1500 watts of solar spread across four panels mounted on our hard top and side rails, soaking up energy from sunrise to sunset. That power runs through a Victron 3000 watt inverter, an MPPT solar charge controller, and a Lynx distributor, all working together to keep our lithium battery bank charged and our systems running smoothly. No noisy generator needed, just quiet, clean power from the sun.

Communications
Sea Signals
Whether we are checking the weather, calling other cruisers, or sending an update back home, staying connected matters out here. Our primary connection is Starlink, giving us fast and reliable internet almost anywhere. For backup and long-range communication, we also have an SSB radio, along with our trusty VHF. This setup keeps us safe, informed, and able to reach out, no matter how far we roam.
